When we focus on creating abundance an important law to apply is the Law of Giving and Receiving. It ranks along side of the Law of Attraction. The concept is uncomplicated yet full of elegance.
When we give, the vibration of the giving goes out and returns to us. Another way of saying it is that the energy is moving in a circular way. However, the energy that returns is amplified because on its travels the vibration attracted more energy of the same vibration. This is the why behind the expression that something returns 10 fold or more.
The Law of Giving and Receiving has been written about by many. One of my favorites is by Catherine Ponder in her book, the Dynamic Laws of Prosperity. Catherine tells the story of a woman who has no money and has no way of feeding her children.
In a panic, this woman telephones a counselor and is given instructions to to first give something to someone in order to receive. The woman is at a loss for what to give thinking she has absolutely nothing. The counselor reminds her with the words that we always have something to give. Then, the woman recalls that she has flowers in her yard. She cuts them and gives them to a sick neighbor.
She is also given instructions to set her table with her best china, to make a grocery list and to expect the means to shop to show up. Unexpectedly, a friend shows up at her door with money that she borrowed from this woman, money she had written off ever being repaid.
A quality that this woman needed to carry out the counselor’s instructions was faith, faith that the money for her children to eat would show up. She also needed to use her creativity when she remembered the flowers in her yard.
Animportant part of using the Law of Giving and Receiving is not being attached to the means in which the receiving part will happen. Frequently the receiving comes from a direction that is totally unanticipated. In The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann, the authors give a list of 5 laws for us to apply. The last law is the Law of Receptivity. It is the law that encourages us to be open to receive. To be open is to be alert. You must have the quality of openness to the act of receiving and then have your guidance system ready to tune into the opportunity to receive.
Many proponents of the Law of Giving and Receiving say to give first and then you will receive. This guideline has been shared under the umbrella of selfless giving with the idea that giving is better than receiving.
Victor Boc has a different idea. He has no hidden agenda. He is not advising selfless giving. He encourages us to give because we know we will then receive. There is no guilt linked with the receiving part. Receiving is on an even plane with its counterpart giving. It’s a refreshing idea.
I highly recommend you play with the approach. Experiment with the Law of Giving and Receiving. Come to your own conclusions. In your adventure of creating abundance take full advantage of each law. Use them for your highest good and the highest good of others.
In the area of creating abundance most of the focus is placed on the Law of Attraction. Another law is the Law of Repulsion. I first heard about it when I was reading How to Solve All of Your Money Problems Forever. Victor Boc, the author, makes the promise offered in the title without a second thought.
The Law of Repulsion is founded on a simple concept but very insightful. Many people follow the practices of the Law of Attraction without success and wonder what’s wrong. They think the law isn’t working instead of questioning how their behaviors aren’t working. Boc’s teaching of the Law of Repulsion makes good sense.
If we can attract something to us, doesn’t it make sense that we can also repulse it? Naturally, that does sound logical, but you’re asking yourself, if you really want something, why would you repel it. By jove, that’s a great question. The answer is that the repelling takes place for the most part subconsciously.
If something was not interfering within the attracting process then everybody would have everything they are wanting. Unfortunately, that is not the case. In fact, mostly people do not attract what they want.
That is when the Law of Repulsion comes into play. We send contradictory messages to the Universe. I want lots of money, but I also think only greedy people make lots of money. I want people to respect me but I don’t respect myself. I want to be as thin and beautiful as the celebrities, but I don’t take care of my body.
The piece of the equation that effects this interaction is the amount of energy that is going into each belief? Does the positive part receive the most energy or the negative part? It is that simple. Remember that all life is energy. When the positive receives the most energy, it is attracting and when the negative is receiving more it is repelling.
The dynamic is very subtle. When we measure with numbers, the best case scenario is 100% pulling in and 0% pushing away. A stand off is 50/50. We can say that you must pull something to you with at least 51% of the energy. That would be the worst case situation in attracting. So, the difference is a mere 1% between attracting and repelling.
Fortunately, we can overcome 1%. How do we accomplish that? We look at the positives and negatives of what we want. We fine tune what we do. Is it too simple?
Perhaps, we make life hard. We are programmed in so many ways to think we have to work hard to have something. That’s how the saying, work smart not hard, evolved.
“It’s not worth having if you don’t work for it.” Tell that to someone who just won the lottery. Let me be clear. I’m not saying we don’t have to put energy into what we want, but it really can be simple.
Simple is not the same as easy. Einstein had a wonderful quote, “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.”
Are you asking yourself what you’re going to do with this information? Awesome question and here’s an equally fabulous answer. First of all, relax with it. Awareness is the first step toward change. Think about something you’ve desired but have not pulled into your reality. Is the Law of Repulsion operating in some way? Make a change remembering that the change could be as small a fine tuning as 1%!
Should the change require a bigger movement, let’s say 49%, do not let it overwhelm you. This is an appropriate time to remember that baby steps are needed. Be sure to be gentle with yourself and give yourself credit for every step you make toward your desire. When it comes to creating abundance there are two laws, the Law of Attraction and the Law of Repulsion. Be conscious of both!
The law of cause and effect is another universal law that has an influence on creating abundance. Although it’s straightforward, it is not an easily accepted concept. Essentially we have to take responsibility for each of our actions with this law. We cannot be victims. It is imperative that we know that for every thought, word, feeling and action that we have there will be an effect.
The saying, ignorance is bliss, is really misleading. On the cause side bliss might sound like a good thing but on the effect side it might not feel so good. An example at this point will be useful.
You’re driving down the street and you make a turn. You hear the awful sound of a siren. You glance in your rearview mirror and there behind you is a police car. Undoubtedly, you’re the one. You stop and so does the officer. As the officer approaches your car you roll down your window. You don’t know what you did wrong, but butterflies are flapping their delicate wings in your gut.
The officer inquires if you know what you did and you feel like a kid again who’s being scrutinized by a parent only this time it’s going to cost some bucks unless you can talk your way out of this situation. In your most polite voice you assure the officer that you have no idea. You tell her that you thought you were driving within the law.
She goes on to tell you that when you made your turn you didn’t stay in the near lane and instead turned into the far lane. You say, “Really? I didn’t know that you had to do that.” Ignorance is bliss…wrong. There is a law and you just broke it. If you’re fortunate, the consequence will be a warning. If not, you have a costly ticket to pay.
This is actually a true story. My friend just had this happen to him. Luckily, he was given a warning, but you get my point.
Let’s apply this law to creating abundance. You know about the Law of Attraction, but did you also know of the Law of Repulsion? You can put out energy that draws something to you while at the same time sending out a vibration that pushes it away. Let’s say that you really want to manifest the love of your life and you do all of the practices you’ve studied to accomplish that consequence. However, at the same time you really do not think you deserve the person of your dreams. The end result energetically will be a push/pull activity. Depending on how strong the energy is one way or the other will determine the effect.
The way to learn and apply this information is to practice. Play with it. Assess your the outcomes. Have fun while you’re learning. After all, it’s your life. Design the best one you possibly can!
Creating abundance through the use of visualization is worth knowing in your desire for an abundant life. The movement that brought visualization to widespread attention was spearheaded by Shakti Gawain in her book Creative Visualization published in 1979. At the time it was a new idea. Another person that brought visualization to the mainstream was Dr. Carl Simonton, an oncologist. His unusual efforts were used in healing work for cancer patients. Instead of the word visualization, he used the word imaging.
In a third field, the field of sports, we see visualization has benefits. Many studies have been carried out in a number of sports that give evidence that visualization improves athletic performance.
Today visualization is recognized as self-evident. How did that happen? Quite simply the results that people get are positive. The positive outcomes really shouldn’t surprise us because the right hemisphere of the brain functions through images rather than language. We also know that our brain cannot distinguish between real events and imagined ones.
How can you use visualization in your life? Let me use an example to illustrate. Let’s say you are in a work position that just isn’t giving you fulfillment. There’s nothing blatantly wrong with your position. You just don’t get feelings of accomplishment when you finish your day. Your passion really is in another field but you’ve always been scrared to follow your dream because it’s a common understanding that you can’t earn a living in this field.
One day you decide that life is too short to go on staying in your position feeling unfulfilled. You decide that you’re going to take the risk and follow your passion. Before you do, you can sit down and visualize in detail what that job would look like…where the job would be located, what your daily assignments would be, who you would interact with, who you would report to, etc.
Then you add how you would feel about the job to your visualization. You visualize how you feel about different aspects such as how you calm your anxieties your first day or you could picture how excited you’ll feel after 6 months or a year.
Perhaps you ask how all of this works to bring you the benefits you’re looking for. Actually, the energy that you put into the visualization has a vibration and it leaves you entering the Universe like a magnet. The energy attracts like energy and returns. It’s like placing an ad in a newspaper under the title: Job Wanted. The magical part is that the Universe exists to fulfill your visualization of a new position. How great is that?
Now, I do not, let me repeat, I do not desire that you take my word for it. Why should you? You don’t know who I am. So, if you can’t believe me that this has merit, what are you to do? You experiment. You play with this idea and have fun with it. One little tip…begin with a small visualization and work your way up step by step to something hu-normous. Visualize an improved friendship. Then step it up and visualize a pay raise or a weekend get away. Then go for the big time…a new job, the love of your life, the book you’ve always wanted to write. Remember, there are lots of ways of creating abundance and one of them is visualization.
